1. Three 6 Mafia Wants Lawsuit Dismissed; Crunchy Black & Koopsta Knicca Still in Court
///\\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\\///\\\///\\\///\\
Three 6 Mafia (DJ Paul & Juicy J) wants the lawsuit for allegedly inciting
a Pittsburgh nightclub fight, that seriously injured alleged victim Ramone
Williams, dismissed. In the incident, which actually took place back in August
of 2003, Williams claims two associates of Three Six Mafia (Robert "Koopsta Knicca"
Cooper and Darnell Darnell "Crunchy Black" Carlton) provoked fans to start fights
with the person next to them which in turn caused him to be assaulted during the
performance of their song "Let's Start A Riot" at the Rock Jungle Night Club in
Pittsburgh, PA.
Three 6 Mafia's attorney, John E. Hall, says that Three 6 Mafia's lyrics to "Let's
Start A Riot" are protected under the First Amendment and last week, a motion was
filed in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court asking for a summary judgment that
would dismiss the law suit. Mr. Hall challenged Williamsââ¬â¢ complaint, saying there
is no "genuine issue of material fact".

2. E-40's Ghetto Report Card certified Gold; Songwriter Al Kapone Expresses
///\\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\\///\\\///\\\///\\
Legendary rapper E-40 has been RIAA certified gold this week with album release
"Ghetto Report Card" which features production by ATL's Lil Jon, E-40's son
Droop-e of the Pharmasuticles and others.
Following the album's first single "Tell Me When 2 Go," which features rapper
Keak Da Sneak, the current top single off the album "My Ghetto Report Card" is
"U and Dat" (Billboard Top 10 Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs) featuring T-Pain & Kandi
Girl, which was co-written by Memphis' own Al Kapone (writer/producer of 2005
Hustle & Flow's "Whoop Dat Trick" and "It Ain't Over").

3. R&B singer Ron Isley gets 3 years for tax evasion
///\\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\\///\\\///\\\///\\
The smooth R&B crooner Ronald Isley, 65, has been sentenced to prison and will
serve a term of three years and one month for five counts of tax evasion and
failing to file a tax return. Ronald Isley was ordered to pay a sum of $3.1
million dollars in back taxes due to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Prosecutors said Isley failed to make any voluntary payments to the IRS between
1976 and 1996 throughout the three week trial. It was also brought up that he
spent millions of dollars of unreported cash payments for performances on a yacht
and two homes, and cashed royalty checks belonging to his late brother, O'Kelly,
who died of a heart attack in 1986.

8. Featured Reviews/Interviews This Week
///\\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\\///\\\///\\\///\\
Cashvilleââ¬â¢s Playboy speaks out on Allstar beef
In a recent interview with Memphisrap.com, Cashville, TN native Playboy
spoke out on the situation between him and Allstar. Everyone knows who Allstar
is but who is Playboy? Well Playboy is the real Cashville, TN eastside rider.
Since his childhood, he has lived on the eastside of Nashville, TN. He has had
an interest in rapping since he was 12 years old, but got serious about his
rapping skills about three years ago. By 2003, Playboy reached out to Allstar,
who at the time was just starting in the rap world. Playboy saw Allstar had

Kinfolk Thugs - We Don't Play That
Fly Paper Ent. - 2006
MemphisRap.com: So what's poppin with the whole Kinfolk Thugs?
Kinfolk Thugs: GC Eternal: Shit we just out here trying to get our music in
everyone's hands. Once you hear our shit you instantly know that we the best
Memphis has to offer. We aint dancin and all that shit. Our shit sounds like
no one else in the M. We have a sound thats never been heard in Memphis, but
we the most versatile as well.
Mr.Tyme Bomb: Yeah we just tryin to get all the local DJ's to constantly spin
our shit. We have a real movement but its takes real street niggas to know that.
Some of these niggas that spin records done showed me that they aint no street nigga.
Most these niggas followers. Where you think you gon get as a DJ if you do and play
the same shit everyone else does. You will never have a real name for yourself. The
streets know what the truth is and we definitely got the streets. We just want
everyone to know what we have accomplished for ourselves and the city of Memphis as
independents. We ain't no fuckin gimmick.
MemphisRap.com: Tell us what's your role with Kinfolk Thugs?
Kinfolk Thugs: GC: We both just get together and come up with that hot shit, I do
the majority of our production work as well.
MemphisRap.com: Tell everybody a little more about Kinfolk Thugs aand how it all began?
Kinfolk Thugs: Bomb: Kinfolk Thugs is real family! When Kinfolk Thug started it wasn't
on no rap shit! My Uncle is "The Villain" who use to rap with Gangsta Pat back in the
deadly verses days. He started Kinfolk Thugs back in the early 90's and it was some
real street shit. Kinfolk Thugs was the niggas robbin, whoopin niggas asses and fuckin
bitches in the streets of South Memphis. We grew up in the shit and ended up taking it
to another level. All the OG's that did time in the name of Kinfolk Thugs is back on the
block after some baseball numbers and we ready to terrorize again.

Nasty Nardo - Already Famous
Geto Star Entertainment - 2006
The lyrically intense Nasty Nardo is nastier than he's ever been with his latest
album release "Already Famous". "Take A Picture", the first track is easily a standout,
just like Watch TV (feat. Yung Kee) which is one of his many hot tracks on the album.
Nasty Nardo says, "Take a picture trick, it might make you rich," and if Nasty Nardo
keeps on doing what he's doing, I think I'm going to be one of those rich with the
album of pictures I've collected of him over the past couple of months. That'll make me
"More Than Rich".
Nasty Nardo creates some vivid images through his rhymes. Unfortunately the tracks that
stick in my head are the ones that would be censored/banned and bleeped throughout the
entire song such as "Murkin Em" and "Pinkys & Thumbz" which in "Pinkys & Thumbz" the
hooks says, "Show yo Pinkys & Thumbz let em know where you from (3x), from South Memphis
B!tches, Imma South Memphis Thug."

10. Advice Column: Producerââ¬â¢s Corner - Studio Monitor Basics ââ¬â Part 2
///\\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\\///\\\///\\\///\\
Hello to all you platinum producers. It is good to be back. I have been working
on a couple projects and had to take some time away from my desk. I am back in the
saddle and am ready to roll. If you get a chance please check out my new and improved
website at www.tunemanproductions.com. I have a lot of music there and some studio
examples for your listening pleasure. I have a couple hip-hop tunes in the studio
section and the accordion section. Look for ââ¬ÅSpecial Kââ¬Â and ââ¬ÅGodfather Blow Upââ¬Â.
Okay, so letââ¬â¢s continue with monitors.
Your listening position can dramatically affect your final mixes. Since volume decreases
with increasing distance from the sound source, if you sit closer to the left monitor than
the right one, for instance, you will not hear the right one as loudly. Your natural tendency
in the mix then will to be to turn up the volume of the right monitor so that the sound
hitting your ear sounds balanced. Unfortunately, when you play your mix back, your listener
is going to hear too much right channel and the mix will not be good. Always sit dead center
between your monitors.
Also, near-field monitors are named so because they are meant to be listened to from a near
distance. Typically you should sit about 3-6 ft. away. If you sit closer you wonââ¬â¢t get a
proper sample of all the sound waves. If you sit further away you will hear too many sound
waves bouncing off your room. These are called reflections and they will fool your ear into
thinking your mix has more reverb and brightness than it really does.

Playa Fly: The Real King of the South
"The real king of the South is Playa Fly. Playa Fly is way tighter than T.I.
Playa Fly brings knowledge to the table when he raps. TI brings a bunch of
mouth and hot air. Playa Fly brings history and wisdom to the table.
If Playa Fly ever gets on and promotes his old hits and starts on new stuff,
the world would be FLY2K."
