Winners of the MemphisRap.com Showcase Announced<br />

The organizers of the MemphisRap.com Showcase & Industry Networking Event have<br />
announced its Showcase winners.<br />
<br />
All talent who entered the showcase performed on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in<br />
front of a Panel of Industry Judges, magazine publications, music fans, A&R's,<br />
and others throughout the night which was filled with entertainment and networking.<br />
<br />
Top performers of the showcase portion of the event included Telfon Don who took<br />
the number one spot with "I Represent", the second spot was a tie between B' Rob,<br />
the only live hip-hop band which performed "Maniac" and 17 year-old rapper Lil' Sha,<br />
the only solo female performer performing "Thank You Mom". And though not mentioned<br />
after the showcase, the other performer, amongst the top three coming in at a close<br />
third place, was rap artist Foley who performed "How You Want It". <br />

MemphisRap.com Introduces New Marketing & Promotions For Artists, Labels and Promoters<br />

Memphis, TN - (MemphisRap.com) January 30, 2008 - Since launching in April 2001,<br />
MemphisRap.com has delivered thousands of promotional messages, new artists, new albums<br />
to a local and worldwide audience. MemphisRap.com has also been a great contributor for<br />
bringing together those in the Industry to meet and network with others online and offline,<br />
recently with the success of the Memphisrap.com Showcase and Industry Networking Event<br />
held this January 2008. Since April 2001, MemphisRap.com has grown from attracting hundreds<br />
of people a day to now thousands a day and hundreds of thousands a month. Even while the<br />
numbers did decline shortly after the website was totally rehauled in October '07 with<br />
new software and a fresh database of members, it did not effect the growth of the site.<br />
MemphisRap.com is growing in new members each day and still has an average of 400,000 to<br />
600,000 visitors to the site each month and those numbers are steady growing.<br />

MemphisRap.com has been involved in launching the careers of many well known artists<br />
in the Industry today while participating in successful online marketing campaigns for<br />
such people as David Banner when he first broke barriers with one of the first online<br />
marketing media players, artist Lil Wyte who attracted over 5,000 new subscribers and<br />
contest entrants with the Memphisrap.com Lil Wyte & MTX Car Audio System Contest campaign<br />
as well as MemphisRap.com played a big online role in the success of Lil Wyte's debut album<br />
and CD sales after providing over a million marketing impressions for the album "Doubt<br />
Me Know". These artists plus independent labels such as Prophet Entertainment headed by<br />
Nick Scarfo, who launched his marketing campaign first online with MemphisRap.com which<br />
helped sell over 3,000 CD's the first week out for the newly formed Prophet Posse last<br />
year on album "The Return: Part I," have been just a few examples of successful campaigns<br />

The organizers of the MemphisRap.com Showcase & Industry Networking Event<br />
have announced its Showcase winners.<br />

in front of a Panel of Industry Judges, magazine publications, music fans,<br />

The occassion included a host of Industry professionals who judged the<br />
showcase. Judges and special guests for the evening included Award winning<br />

As the doors opened around 6pm, people began to flow into The New Daisy to watch<br />
the MemphisRap.com Showcase of hot new performers competing for a grand prize of<br />
free studio time given by Memphis Records and promo services given through Memphisrap.com.<br />

The show began with two entertaining hosts, K-Lee and Nina Stakz.<br />

Just added, rapper Lil Wyte (Hypnotize Minds/Wyte Music) as well as Al Kapone (Alkatraz Productions) will be among those performing live and making special appearances at the MemphisRap.com Showcase & Industry Networking Event come January 23rd, 2008 at the New Daisy Theater on Beale St. in Downtown Memphis, TN.<br />

Lil Wyte, who's latest radio single entitled "Feelin Real Pimpish," follows the huge hit single "Talkin Ain't Walkin" off Wyte's latest album "The One and Only," which is in stores now. As recently reported on Memphisrap.com, the rapper, who appeared on MTV's "Adventures In Hollyhood" alongside label counterparts Three 6 Mafia, career started with and is still with label Hypnotize Minds. Now, after his 3rd album, Lil Wyte decided to start his own label "Wyte Music" in association with "WyteHouse Productions". The rappers' label Wyte Music includes Partee, Ace and Lil Wyte himself. Legendary rapper, Al Kapone who's roots date back to the origin of Memphis underground rap and though the rapper is viewed as a pioneer of the Dirty South Crunk/Buck style of Hip-Hop, the Grammy nominated writer and producer is still making history with such collaborations on his resume today ranging from hit songs like Lil Jon's "Snap Yo Fingers" and E-40's "U and Dat". Along with the creation of hit songs for movie soundtracks such as "Whoop Dat Trick" off the movie "Hustle & Flow" including “It Ain’t Over (Hustle & Flow Theme Song)" which won Kapone the 2006 Critic’s Choice Award, the rapper has also contributed to music in movies such as "Stomp The Yard" and "Black Snake Moan."<br />

While continuing his focus on writing now for EMI artists, working on his live shows with his live band "Tha Untouchablez," and holding down the position of President at the Memphis Grammy Chapter, the rapper/producer/songwriter still manages to find time to develop new music for his own rap career. All while enjoying the live music performances, attendees who are part of the MemphisRap.com Showcase & Industry Networking Event will also get a chance to network with the Who's Who in the Music & Entertainment Industry which includes the ability to connect face-to-face with those already established in the business and aspiring.<br />

Emerging talent who submitted materials and are selected to perform in the showcase will be performing their material for a panel of Industry judges including TV and radio personality Tina Tilton (88.5 FM), two-time SEA Award-winning DJ Freddy Hydro, Rob Storm of Hot 107.1 FM in Memphis, Memphis Grammy Chapter President and music producer/songwriter Al Kapone (Whoop That Trick - Hustle & Flow, U and Dat - E-40), Board Commissioner of the Memphis Music Commission and Grammy nominated music producer Kurt "KC" Clayton (Three 6 Mafia, Angela Winbush, The People vs Larry Flynt...), Kevin Nix (L. Nix & Mastering/Ardent Studios), and a host of other industry professionals. The winners will have the opportunity to receive prize awards including a recording session at the prestigious Memphis Records/Young Avenue Sound, professional PR services, a marketing and promotional campaign and much more.<br />

MemphisRap.com Showcase & Industry Networking Event Performance Registration Ending Soon!<br />

Memphis, Tennessee (January 02, 2008) - MemphisRap.com has announced that registrations for performance slots at the MemphisRap.com Showcase & Industry Networking Event will be ending soon. The registration fee is $30, which provides an evaluation and overview of the performers work which can be submitted on CD/DVD. Thereafter, if selected the talent will be called out to an audition to perform for a panel of Industry executives for a chance at an opportunity to perform at the event. <br />
<br />
After January 6th, 2008, no new registrations will be accepted and only upon evaluation of submissions will another date be extended. Those interested are asked to send in their materials ASAP to insure a spot at the event by visiting the Showcase website at <a href="http://www.memphisrap.com/showcase">http://www.memphisrap.com/showcase</a>.<br />

The MemphisRap.com Showcase & Industry Networking Event will be held January 23, 2008 at 7PM in Memphis, Tennessee, at the New Daisy Theater on infamous Beale St. in Downtown Memphis. The event will feature a number of guests which include celebrity guests, well-known Industry executives and decision-makers as well as labels, promoters, producers, managers and publicists. At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to network, exchange information, and ask questions directly with those emerging in the Industry and already established within the Music and Entertainment Industry while enjoying live performances, drinks and more.<br />
